Rollover To Zoom
King's Falcon is a Speyside single malt matured in American oak and then finished a second time in first-fill bourbon casks — a double-oak treatment that leans warm, mellow, and unmistakably vanilla-forward. It scored 93 points at the 2018 Ultimate Spirits Challenge and drinks well above its price.
Mood: mellow, honeyed, oak-warm.
SOMMELIER SAYS
“King's Falcon is a small, sneaky win — a Speyside malt that costs like a blend but drinks with the depth of a proper bourbon-finished single malt.”
Tasting Notes
Aromas of honey, vanilla, and toasted oak lift from the glass with a whisper of smoke and dried orchard fruit. The palate is smooth and mellow — vanilla cream, honeycomb, and orange marmalade over charred oak — before a medium finish that closes on toffee and warm baking spice.
Serving & Pairing
Best neat or over one large ice cube; also holds up in a Rob Roy or Rusty Nail. Pairs with dessert cheese, dark chocolate, pecan pie, or the tail end of a Yom Tov meal when the room finally quiets down.
