Rollover To Zoom
The Rothschild family's flagship kosher Bordeaux, a left-bank blend of roughly 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot from estates across the Haut-Medoc appellation. Twelve months in French oak give it the classic cassis-and-cedar profile collectors expect from the name.
Mood: Refined, ceremonial, Bordeaux.
Tasting notes
Dark cassis, ripe plum and graphite frame an undercurrent of cedar shavings and pipe tobacco. Medium-to-full bodied with mouth-coating tannin, the palate carries blackcurrant, cocoa nib and a savoury note of fresh tobacco leaf. The finish is long and earthy, oak spice fading into dried herbs and a final whisper of dark chocolate.
Food pairing
Built for brisket, grilled lamb chops, or a slow-braised cholent. It also handles a Shabbos roast chicken stuffed with rice and pine nuts, or a board of aged kosher hard cheeses.
