Rollover To Zoom
Gamla Chardonnay is the kosher entry into the Golan Heights Winery's celebrated white program — a cool-climate Chardonnay from volcanic-soil vineyards at the northern Golan, briefly oaked to keep the fruit forward and the texture clean.
A bright afternoon glass for grilled fish, roast chicken Friday night, or simply a chilled bottle on the patio when the heat lifts.
Sommelier note — Golan Heights Winery brought serious cool-climate winemaking to Israel back in 1983. The Gamla line is the everyday face of that program: high-altitude fruit, French oak in moderation, drinkable now but built well enough to age a year or two.
Tasting & Flavor Notes
Pale straw in the glass. Aromas of green apple, nashi pear, and white blossom open onto subtle citrus peel and a whisper of vanilla from oak. The palate is medium-bodied with bright acidity, layered orchard fruit, a touch of tropical mango on the mid-palate, and a clean, lightly creamy finish.
Pairing
Grilled salmon or branzino, roast chicken with lemon and herbs, creamy pasta, soft cheeses, sushi, or any Shabbos table that needs a versatile dry white.
