Rollover To Zoom
A late-harvest red dessert wine from Herzog's California program. Zinfandel picked at peak ripeness, made into a sweet, jammy sipper that drinks somewhere between port and dessert wine.
Mood: jammy, sweet, after-dinner.
Our sommelier says
"Late-harvest Zin is an undersold dessert category. Pour it next to a chocolate dessert or with a wedge of aged cheese — it earns its slot on the table."
Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Aromas of black raspberry jam, dried fig, and warm baking spice. The palate is sweet and viscous with concentrated dark-berry flavors and a touch of bramble. Finish lingers on cocoa and dried fruit.
Food pairing
Dark chocolate desserts, flourless cake, blue cheeses, dried-fruit boards, after-dinner sipping. Serve lightly chilled.
