Rollover To Zoom
A magnum of one of Burgundy's most pedigreed whites — Les Chalumeaux, a Premier Cru lieu-dit on the Puligny-Montrachet hillside, vinified kosher by Domaine de Montille themselves. Built for the simcha that deserves a serious bottle.
Mood: Stately, generous, ageworthy.
Tasting notes
White peach, citrus zest, toasted almond, hawthorn blossom, a curl of struck flint. Lush and tightly drawn at once — orchard fruit, lemon curd, hazelnut, polished by fine Burgundian acidity. Long, mineral, saline, with a subtle smokiness that carries the wine well past the swallow.
Food pairing
A whole roasted turbot for a yom tov lunch, lemon-butter sole, Friday night chicken in cream sauce, or a sharp aged cheese course at the wedding sheva brachos.
