Rollover To Zoom
Matar CB is the boutique Golan winery's Cabernet-Franc-forward blend, from Pelter's kosher-only Matar line. A Bordeaux-inspired composition (Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot) from Israel's Golan Heights, non-mevushal and cellar-serious.
Mood: Bordeaux, boutique, insider.
Sommelier's note
"Pelter's kosher flagship in Bordeaux-blend form. Blackcurrant, graphite, and a whisper of cured herb, wrapped in polished tannin. The insider's Israeli red."
Tasting notes
Deep ruby with aromas of blackcurrant, black cherry, graphite, cedar, and dried herbs. The palate is full-bodied and dry, layered with cassis, dark plum, tobacco, cocoa, and firm elegant tannin. The finish is long, structured, and mineral.
Food pairing
Prime rib, dry-aged steak, rack of lamb, herbed roast, aged hard cheeses. A serious Shabbos or yom tov main-course red for a table that knows Bordeaux.
