Rollover To Zoom
A Provencal rose from Bernard Magrez's 15-hectare Chateau des Muraires, halfway between Aix-en-Provence and Nice. Pale, dry, and built for the table — the lighter, more terrace-friendly sibling to the estate's L'Excellence cuvee.
Mood: Pale, dry, summery.
Tasting notes
Cool nose of white peach, ruby grapefruit, and crushed wet stone. Bone-dry palate, watermelon rind and strawberry skin held tight by Provencal salinity. Clean mineral close that begs for a second pour.
Food pairing
Pairs with grilled branzino, herbed schnitzel, and chilled gazpacho. Strong with a Friday-night salmon course or a Sunday charcuterie board of olives, melon, and smoked turkey.
