Rollover To Zoom
Nes Harim is Katlav's tribute to the village that gave the winery its home: a 50/50 Merlot and Petit Verdot blend off the surrounding Judean Hills vineyards. Plush from the Merlot, spiced and structured from the Petit Verdot, a balanced boutique red.
Mood: plush, spiced, village.
An unusual pairing on paper, half Merlot and half Petit Verdot. On the palate it's a rich, generous Shabbos red with more spine than a straight Merlot would ever give you.
Tasting Notes
Ripe plum, black cherry, and dried blueberry on the nose, with a whisper of violet and wild herbs. The palate is round and layered, with soft plum fruit from the Merlot married to firmer Petit Verdot tannins and a graphite lift. The finish is warm and savory, dark spice, cocoa nib, and Judean pine.
Food Pairing
A weeknight-to-Shabbos crossover: roast chicken with rosemary, veal osso buco, stuffed cabbage, lamb tagine, or a rich mushroom-forward main. Also pairs well with hard cheeses and grilled portobello.
