Rollover To Zoom
Macallan Double Cask Gold is a Speyside Highland single malt matured in both American and European oak sherry casks. Classic Macallan style: honeyed, smooth, and sherry-inflected.
Mood: Smooth, honeyed, Highland.
Bartender's note
"A Macallan double-cask in the Highland tradition. Honey, dried fruit, and a soft oaken warmth. Sherry cask influence, so not KLBD-certified. Verify with your rabbi."
Tasting notes
Amber-gold with aromas of honey, vanilla, dried apricot, and a whisper of orange peel. The palate is medium-full and smooth, with butterscotch, sultana, ginger spice, and a soft oak lift. The finish is warm, medium-long, with lingering honey and citrus.
Best served
Neat in a Glencairn, with a few drops of water to open the honey notes, or over one large ice cube. A serious sipper for the Shabbos couch after havdalah or a birthday l'chaim.
