Rollover To Zoom
Nine Banded is an Austin, Texas straight bourbon built on a mash of 87% corn, 11% rye, and 2% malted barley, distilled with limestone-filtered water from the Texas hill country. Named for the nine-banded armadillo, the state's small mammal and its cheeky mascot on the label.
Mood: sweet, easy, Texas.
An approachable Texas straight bourbon. Sweet up front, spicy at the back, and mellow enough to sit alongside a cigar without arguing with it.
Tasting Notes
Sweet caramel and vanilla open the nose, layered with soft oak and dried orchard fruit. The palate is round and gentle, honey, brown sugar, and a light rye spice building to a warm mid-palate. The finish is clean and warming, caramel and pepper carrying long.
Food Pairing
A l'chaim pour at a Kiddush club or Purim seudah. Neat, over one large ice cube, or splashed into an Old Fashioned with a strip of orange peel. Also excellent alongside dark chocolate, pecans, or a smoked-meat platter.
