Rollover To Zoom
Le Clos du Beau-Pere is Jean-Luc Thunevin's tiny four-hectare Pomerol estate, named for his father-in-law, planted to ninety percent Merlot on the appellation's signature gravel and sand. The kosher cuvee under Rabbi Rottenberg gives Pomerol lovers a serious Right Bank red without compromise.
Mood: Velvet plush Pomerol.
Tasting Notes
Espresso bean, dark cherry, violet, cocoa nib, and a wisp of incense. Creamy and forward, layering black cherry, strawberry coulis, dark chocolate, and sweet earth. Long, soft, and polished with easy tannins and a lingering note of cocoa.
Food Pairing
A centerpiece red for Yom Tov roast brisket, rosemary lamb, or wild-mushroom kugel. Decant thirty minutes and serve at cool room temperature.
