Deep purple with serious viscosity. Powerful and perfectly ripe black currant, plum, cherry, tilled earth, espresso, toast, dried herbs, vanilla, violets, and sweet tobacco notes burst from the glass after the wine has a little air. Opulent, muscular, and dense but still cut and poised, with gripping, grainy tannins and a brilliantly balanced structure. Loaded with complex black fruit, accents of mocha, exotic spice, and vanilla resonate, building on each other through a lasting and mineral-toned finish. Drink now - 2045.
Food Pairing
Since Bordeaux red blends are often quite structured and tannic, they pair best with flavorful and fatty meat dishes. Steak makes for a classic pairing. Equally welcome with these wines would be beef brisket, pot roast, braised lamb or smoked duck.
