Rollover To Zoom
A Premier Cru Volnay from Domaine de Montille, one of the Côte de Beaune's most respected estates and among the very first to release kosher Burgundy in this class. Whole-bunch fermented, aged in French oak — a benchmark kosher Pinot Noir from a benchmark address.
Mood: Silky, serious, Côte de Beaune.
"This is the real thing — kosher Volnay from a domaine that spent decades making the non-kosher version legendary. Silk, structure, and a Burgundian pedigree you don't see often on this side of the shul."
Tasting Notes
Red cherry, wild raspberry, rose petal and a hint of forest floor open the nose alongside subtle French oak spice. The palate is medium-bodied and silky, with fine-grained tannins, bright red fruit and the mineral, limestone-driven tension Volnay is prized for. The finish is long, delicate and pure.
Food Pairing
An absolute Yom Tov Burgundy — reach for it with roasted duck breast, poussin, prime rib, or the seder-night lamb. Also lovely with mushroom risotto, aged Comté-style hard cheeses and a Motzei Shabbos cheese board.
