Rollover To Zoom
J. de Villebois Sancerre Rose is a kosher expression of the benchmark Loire Valley AOP, made from 100% Pinot Noir grown on the Caillottes limestone and Terres Blanches (Kimmeridgian marls) vineyards. Dutch businessman Joost de Villebois built the operation with winemaker Thierry Merlet, and the 2015 Fournier acquisition made them one of Sancerre's premier producers.
Mood: Fresh, mineral, elegant.
Tasting Notes
Fresh salmon-pink in the glass with a lifted cherry aroma. The nose recalls red-berry fruits and citrus with a tangy note. The palate is tense, ample, and aromatic with flavors of cherry, raspberry, and strawberry, a touch of herbs, and real minerality. The finish is delightful, balanced, and gently spicy.
Food Pairing
Pairs beautifully with grilled vegetables, salads with goat cheese, seafood, sushi, or a mezze spread. A serious Shabbos or yom tov rose.
