Our sommelier says
Bruichladdich's heavily-peated 'Port Charlotte' line carries the name of the village that once housed the Lochindaal Distillery. Matured in American oak with the distillery's signature unfiltered, non-coloured approach—all malt traceable to barley grown for the bottling.
Tasting notes
Lapsang souchong, smoked apricot, sea salt, vanilla, lemon peel. Sweet peat, charred peach, brine, pepper, baked apple, a touch of marzipan. Long, oily, smoky—lemon ash, gentle malt, lingering coastal warmth.
Food pairing
Smoked duck breast, grilled mackerel, sharp aged gouda, or dark chocolate.
