Rollover To Zoom
T'amo is the everyday red from Borgo Casa al Vento, an organic estate tucked into the Chianti hills above Gaiole. A 50/50 blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, fermented on the skins for nearly a month and rested ten months in oak.
Mood: Tuscan, savory, rustic.
Sommelier's note
"Real Chianti-country wine in disguise — the IGT label keeps it honest and the oven-ready price doesn't hurt."
Tasting notes
Black cherry, dried herb, leather, plum, a touch of cedar. Full-bodied and dry, marked tannins, sour-cherry acidity, a savory tobacco-and-earth core. Long, drying, faintly bitter-almond, classic Sangiovese signature.
Pairing
Brisket, cholent, lamb chops, mushroom-pasta Friday nights, aged hard cheeses. Decant an hour ahead.
