Rollover To Zoom
The Cabernet that built Golan Heights Winery's reputation — Israeli Cab at a price that makes it the house red for thousands of Shabbos tables.
Gamla is the everyday line from Golan Heights Winery, the producer who launched the modern Israeli wine industry in 1983. The Cabernet draws fruit from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc grown across the high-altitude Golan Heights and Upper Galilee, aged in mostly French oak to add complexity without overwhelming the fruit.
Tasting notes
Bright ruby with cherry-red highlights. Aromas of cherry, blackberry, and mulberry with hints of tobacco, herb, and French oak. The palate is medium-bodied and dry, with ripe black fruit, a touch of black pepper, and tannins that are present but smooth. The finish carries oak and dried herb.
Pairing
Classic with grilled steak, lamb, brisket, and roasted chicken. The kind of red that handles cholent, deli, and a midweek burger with equal grace.
