Rollover To Zoom
Primitivo is the Puglian twin of California Zinfandel — same grape, sunnier address. Lovatelli's bottling is mevushal kosher, generously fruited, and built for the table.
Mood: Sun-baked, jammy, generous.
Sommelier’s note
“The crowd-pleaser red. Pour it at a sheva brachot and watch it disappear.”
Tasting notes
Black plum, dried fig, blackberry jam, sweet spice. Full-bodied; ripe black fruit, soft tannin, a whisper of vanilla and chocolate. Long, warm, gently sweet.
Pairing
Brisket, lamb ragù, eggplant parmigiana, pizza, or aged pecorino.
