Rollover To Zoom
A restaurant-only Cabernet, now available to the home cellar. Covenant Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon is mevushal-made from top northern California vineyards, built for VIP tables and high-end simchas where the wine has to be both serious and hechsher-flexible.
For the host who refuses to choose between a real Napa Cab and a mevushal pour.
Jeff Morgan's Covenant project has been the standard-bearer for serious California kosher Cabernet since 2003. The Black Label was the trade-only mevushal cuvee restaurants stocked when they needed a bottle that could pass under any kashrus standard without tasting like a compromise. Releasing it to the retail trade quietly closed one of the most-asked-about gaps in the catalog.
Tasting notes
Dark cherry, cassis, and graphite on the nose. The palate carries blackberry, cedar, and a wisp of cocoa, with the ripe-but-poised tannin Napa Cab is known for. Mevushal handling is invisible on the palate.
Food pairing
Aged rib steak, brisket with a deep wine reduction, dry-rubbed lamb chops, hard sheep's-milk cheese.
