Rollover To Zoom
Shiloh's Secret Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is the winery's flagship red, Judean Hills mountain fruit given 18 months in French oak and presented in a 1.5L magnum. Amichai Lourie has been making this cuvée in the highlands north of Jerusalem since the early 2000s, and this format is built for a Shabbos or yom tov table that expects a serious bottle.
Mood: Bold, structured, celebratory.
Sommelier's note
"A muscular Cabernet built to age. Dark fruit, cedar, black pepper, all wrapped in Judean Hills tannin. The magnum is for the table that goes deep on the main course."
Tasting notes
Aromas of blackcurrant, plum, cedar, and a wisp of tobacco leaf. The palate is full-bodied, layered with black cherry, dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and firm mountain tannin. The finish is long and structured, with lingering spice and mineral grip.
Food pairing
Prime rib, rack of lamb, dry-aged steak, brisket cholent, aged hard cheeses. A magnum built for a full Shabbos table or a yom tov feast.
