Rollover To Zoom
Barkan Platinum is the winery's top-shelf Cabernet Sauvignon — a single-varietal Upper Galilee red aged eighteen months in French and American oak. Sourced from the Alma and Dalton vineyards, it's the bottling Barkan built to age gracefully at the Shabbos table.
Mood: Dark, polished, ceremonial.
Sommelier's Note
"The Platinum tier is where Barkan trades approachability for depth — mountain-fruit density with a graphite spine that keeps the sweetness of Cabernet in check."
Tasting Notes
Deep royal purple with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, toasted oak, nutmeg, and fresh herbs. The palate is medium-to-full bodied with concentrated dark fruit, hints of graphite and licorice, spice and tobacco, and mouth-coating tannins carried by medium-plus acidity. Long, mouth-filling finish.
Food Pairing
A natural for brisket, standing rib roast, and grilled lamb chops. Holds its own next to cholent and heavier Shabbos mains where a lighter Cabernet would fold.
