A traditional Israeli arak from the Joseph Gold & Sons distillery, distilled from grape and aniseed in a method the family has used since 1824. Pour it over ice with cold water and watch it cloud — the Levantine apéritif at full strength.

Tasting notes
Pure anise and a whisper of fennel on the nose. The palate is clean and dry with that signature licorice depth. Long, cooling finish — slightly sweet, mostly herbal.

Two parts cold water, one part arak, over plenty of ice. Goes with mezze — olives, hummus, grilled fish, lamb skewers.
