Rollover To Zoom
Photo for reference. Vintage may differ from the bottle shipped.
A sweet red dessert wine off old Zinfandel vines in the Pescador Vineyard, on the Mokelumne River in Lodi. Old vines give small crops and concentrated fruit, and picking late turns that into something close to port.
Mood: Dark, sweet, brooding.
Our sommelier says
Pour it where you would pour port — after the meal, in a small glass, with something chocolate.
Tasting notes
Blackberry jam, raisin and sweet spice. Rich and sweet across the palate with dark brambly fruit. A long finish of jammy fruit and warmth.
Food pairing
Dark chocolate, brownies and hard cheese. Good on a winter night on its own.
