Rollover To Zoom
From volcanic basalt soil high on the Golan Heights, Bazelet Hagolan's Merlot Reserve is a serious, oak-aged Israeli red with the depth and structure to match its altitude. A flagship from one of Israel's most distinctive boutique wineries.
Mood: volcanic, deep, age-worthy.
Our sommelier says
"Volcanic basalt + high altitude + Golan summers. Bazelet's Reserve Merlot has the kind of mineral depth you don't get from standard valley fruit — a serious bottle for serious meals."
Tasting notes
Deep ruby. Aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, cocoa, and a hint of black olive. The palate is full-bodied with rich red and black fruit, polished tannins, and integrated French oak. Long mineral-driven finish.
Food pairing
Lamb shoulder, braised short rib, grilled steak, aged hard cheeses, yom tov roasts. Decant before serving.
