Rollover To Zoom
Carmel's Selected Mediterranean Blend is a Rhone-leaning red — 45% Shiraz, 30% Carignan, 20% Petite Sirah, with 5% Viognier co-fermented in. Carmel is Israel's oldest winery, founded by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1882, and is OU certified.
Mood: warm Mediterranean spice.
Sommelier’s note
“A Carmel that doesn't try to be a Cab — Rhone vibe, kosher pedigree, easy price.”
Tasting notes
Deep burgundy with blackberries, red-fruit jam, cassis, mocha, and tobacco. Medium-bodied and fruit-forward with light-to-medium tannins, cherry, raspberry, butterscotch, anisette, and juniper. Smooth with lingering tart fruit and restrained wood spice.
Pairing
Roast lamb shoulder, shawarma, or aged hard cheeses; lifts a kebab night beautifully.
