Rollover To Zoom
Blanton's Original Single Barrel is the bourbon that invented the single-barrel category in 1984, drawn one barrel at a time from the center cut of Buffalo Trace's Warehouse H. Iconic horse-and-jockey stopper, a bourbon-lover's white whale, and a collector piece that still drinks like a Kentucky legend.
Mood: Iconic. Collectible. Kentucky.
Tasting notes
The nose opens with rich caramel, honey, and orange peel over a deep note of vanilla oak. The palate is full-bodied and layered, with brown sugar, dried fruit, baking spice, and a wisp of leather carried on a warm oaky weight. The finish is long and generous, with lingering vanilla, caramel, and a subtle rye-spice kick.
Food pairing
Serve neat, on a large ice cube, or as the base of a serious Old Fashioned. Beautiful after Yom Tov meals with dark chocolate, cigars, and pecan pie. A collector gift for the whiskey friend.
