Basil Hayden is Jim Beam's high-rye small-batch bourbon — named for an 18th-century Kentucky distiller who insisted on more rye in the mash bill. The result is lighter, spicier, and more approachable than typical Kentucky bourbon.

Neat in a Glencairn or on a single large rock. The high rye makes it a brilliant Old Fashioned base.
Tasting notes
Aromas of honey, light caramel and warm cinnamon. The palate is medium-bodied with vanilla, peppery rye spice and a touch of fruit. A clean, mid-length finish with gentle oak and cinnamon.
Food pairing
Pairs with grilled meats, smoked brisket, and dark chocolate. A natural Old Fashioned bourbon.
