Rollover To Zoom
Righteous Road's Greyrider is straight bourbon (21% rye / 75% corn / 4% malt) aged four years, then finished on new oak staves soaked in Righteous Seven liqueur. A St. Louis frum-owned craft distillery doing serious, OU-certified American whiskey.
Mood: Craft, frum, characterful.
"OU-certified American bourbon from a frum St. Louis distiller — that's rare, and Greyrider earns the bottle. The Righteous Seven stave finish gives it a distinctive candied-fruit thread you won't find anywhere else."
Tasting Notes
Deep amber. Nose of caramel, vanilla, candied fruit and warm oak spice. The palate is rounded and generous — sweet corn, brown sugar, dried orange peel, cinnamon and a whisper of dark cherry from the liqueur-soaked stave finish. Finish is long, spicy-sweet and cleanly warm.
Food Pairing
A neat Motzei Shabbos sipper — Glencairn or over a single large rock. Pairs with dark chocolate, pecan pie, aged hard cheeses, or a good cigar in the sukkah.
