Teperberg Impression Cabernet Sauvignon is the value red from Israel's oldest family winery, founded 1870 in the Judean Hills and now anchored in the Samson region. Full-bodied Cab, mevushal, priced for the everyday Shabbos table.
Mood: Bold, everyday, mevushal.
Sommelier's note
"A working Israeli Cab under $20. Ripe blackcurrant, plum, and a soft oak lift. Mevushal so the caterer can pour it, dry enough to hold up to brisket."
Tasting notes
Deep ruby with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe plum, cedar, and a touch of vanilla. The palate is full-bodied and dry, with black cherry, cassis, tobacco, and a warm oak spice midpoint. The finish is medium-long, gently tannic, and softly warming.
Food pairing
Shabbos brisket, roast chicken, cholent, grilled lamb, meat kugels, hard cheeses. A workhorse main-course Cab for the Israeli family shulchan.
