Rollover To Zoom
Baron Roland VS is the entry expression from Distillerie des Moisans, the family house in Saint-Preuil that has been distilling kosher cognac since 1960. Aged at least two years in Limousin oak, it shows the bright, fruit-forward side of the appellation rather than the deeper rancio of older cuvees.
Mood: Warm, friendly, copper.
Tasting notes
Ripe pear, vine peach and a dusting of vanilla rise from the glass with a faint floral lift. The palate is round and supple, sweet stone-fruit and toasted almond carrying a touch of honey and warm cinnamon. A clean, medium-length finish leaves mellow oak and a whisper of dried apricot.
Food pairing
Serve neat or over a single rock with dark chocolate, marzipan, or a wedge of aged Mimolette. It also works beautifully in a Sidecar or a Vieux Carre for Motzei Shabbos cocktails.
