Chopin is distilled four times from roughly seven pounds of young Polish potatoes per bottle, at a family distillery in Podlasie that has made nothing else since 1993. Potato gives it a weight and a creaminess that grain vodka cannot copy.
Mood: Creamy, full, honest.
Tasting notes
Green apple and cream on the nose, with a faint earthiness underneath. The palate is round and full-bodied, closer to velvet than to water. A long, gently peppery finish with no burn.
Food pairing
Neat and freezer-cold beside herring, smoked salmon or a good pastrami. It also makes the fullest-bodied martini on the shelf.
