Rollover To Zoom
Clase Azul Añejo is the step up from the Reposado, and it announces itself before you pour: the same hand-painted ceramic decanter, now finished with gold detailing and a gold agave medallion. Inside, Weber blue agave rested twenty-five months in American oak.
Mood: deep, patient, unmistakably a gift.
Tasting notes
Toasted oak, cooked agave and warm baking spice on the nose. The palate is rich and layered, with butterscotch, dried fruit, roasted nuts and a thread of dark chocolate. Long and warming, with vanilla and cinnamon that sit on the finish for a while.
Food pairing
This is an after-dinner bottle. Serve it neat in a rocks glass, alongside a chocolate dessert, an aged hard cheese, or a good cigar. It is also the bottle people give when they want the gift to be remembered.
