Chianti wants food more than most reds. On its own it reads austere; with tomato it comes alive.
Tasting notes
Sour cherry, dried herb and a little leather. Dry and firm across the palate with bright acidity and grippy tannin. A savoury, cherry-edged finish.
Food pairing
Pasta with tomato, roast chicken, grilled meat and pizza. It was made for exactly this.
