Rollover To Zoom
Feudi del Pisciotto Nero d'Avola Versace is the Sicilian fashion-house collaboration that put kosher Sicily on the runway. Donatella Versace drew the Medusa medallion on the front, and inside the bottle is a serious, structured Nero d'Avola from the Niscemi estate of the Castellare/Feudi family.
For the Friday night when you want the table to gasp before the first sip.
Estate-selected Nero d'Avola from Sicilian DOC vineyards in the Caltagirone-Piazza Armerina triangle. Fermented in temperature-controlled steel with malolactic, then aged ten months in French oak barriques (half new, half second-use) and eight more in bottle before release. Wine Spectator gave the 2015 a spot in the Top 100 of the world.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby red. The nose opens on currant, blueberry and dark cherry, lifted by sweet spice and toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, with ripe tannins and a long, polished finish of fruit and warm spice.
Pairing
Roasted lamb shoulder, brisket with a fruit glaze, grilled ribeye, hard aged cheeses, or anything with rosemary and char.
