Rollover To Zoom
The George Dickel and Leopold Bros collaboration blends Tennessee's column-still rye with Denver's rare three-chamber still rye. Two distilleries, two philosophies, one bottle that honors the deep roots of American whiskey.
Mood: heritage, spice, deep-cut.
A whiskey collector's whiskey. The three-chamber still hasn't been in serious use since the 1940s; Leopold Bros rebuilt one to make this. Sip it slow.
Tasting Notes
Warm rye spice, orange peel, and toasted oak on the nose with a whisper of tobacco. The palate is full and layered, with rye pepper, dried fig, cinnamon, and dark caramel. The finish is long and warming, oak, black tea, and gentle sweetness.
Food Pairing
A cigar and a comfortable armchair. Neat in a Glencairn, over one large ice cube, or as the anchor of a proper Old Fashioned. Also excellent alongside dark chocolate, aged cheddar, or a smoked-meat platter.
