Photo for reference. Vintage may differ from the bottle shipped.
The Glenlivet 21 Year is a Speyside single malt Scotch aged twenty-one years and finished in first-fill Oloroso sherry, Tronçais oak Cognac and Colheita vintage port casks, from The Sample Room Collection. That wine, sherry and Cognac cask finish places this expression outside the current KLBD, Star-K, and cRc kosher scotch lists.
Mood: Rich. Sherry. Collector.
Tasting notes
The nose lifts dried fig, dark cherry, cocoa, and warm baking spice over a soft oak edge. The palate is full-bodied and layered, with dried-fruit richness, orange peel, milk chocolate, and a smoky oak weight carried on a long silky finish. The finish is long and generous, with lingering sherry, cocoa, and a subtle spice close.
Food pairing
A collector piece served neat after dinner. Beautiful with dark chocolate, cigars, and dried-fruit-and-nut plates.
