Rollover To Zoom
From the foot of Mount Daisen in Tottori prefecture, Matsui Shuzo's Kurayoshi Pure Malt is a blended malt drawing on the soft spring water of San'in—gentle, honeyed, and built in the Japanese house style.
Mood: Quiet evening, a small pour, no distractions.
Tasting notes
Honey, vanilla, dried apricot, soft oak, a flicker of green tea. Malt sugar, pear, almond, light caramel, gentle spice. Smooth, soft, lingering honey and a clean oak fade.
Food pairing
Sushi, grilled chicken yakitori, aged hard cheese, or a contemplative nightcap.
