Rollover To Zoom
Roland Bru VSOP comes from the Distillerie des Moisans in Sireuil, near the Charente River, where the house has been blending Cognac since 1955. The VSOP rests in French oak barrels long enough to round out a soft, mature spirit at 40% ABV.
Mood: Polished, warming, considered.
Sommelier's Note
A weeknight Cognac that holds up on Friday night. Pour it neat after a fish course, or stretch it long with a splash of soda.
Tasting Notes
Elegant floral aromas open the glass with hints of rich leather and toasted almond. The palate is dense and balanced — ripe fruit, dried fig, sweet spice, and a quiet thread of tobacco. The finish is long, warming, and woody with the kiss of noble French oak.
Food Pairing
Sip neat after a brisket dinner, or build a kiddush highball with ginger ale and a lemon twist.
