Rollover To Zoom
Tomatin Dualchas is the softer side of the Highlands — a non-age-statement single malt matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels and virgin American oak. The virgin oak brings a light natural sweetness and the softness the distillery is known for. It carries a Gold Outstanding score of 99/100 at the 2022 IWSC.
Mood: soft, sweet, oak-warm.
SOMMELIER SAYS
“Tomatin Dualchas is a gentle malt with real range — the virgin oak gives it vanilla and marshmallow, the ex-bourbon gives it structure, and the finish stays clean.”
Tasting Notes
Aromas of vanilla bean, white chocolate, and cinnamon lift from the glass with fresh orchard fruit and toasted oak behind them. The palate is smooth and softly sweet — vanilla, honeydew, pineapple, and light ginger — before a clean finish that closes with warm oak spice.
Serving & Pairing
Best neat or with a single drop of water; also holds up on a large rock. Pairs with light cheese, honey cake, apple crumble, or the tail end of a Yom Tov meal when the room finally quiets down.
