Late harvest means the grapes hung until the sugar concentrated — this one came in at 25.7 brix and kept 10.7 percent residual sugar. Orange Muscat gives it a marmalade perfume that few dessert wines can match.
Mood: Rich, sweet, perfumed.
Our sommelier says
Small glass, well chilled, after the meal. A half-glass is a whole dessert.
Tasting notes
Orange marmalade, apricot and honeysuckle. Sweet and unctuous across the palate, with citrus acidity keeping it lively. A long, sweet, citrus-peel finish.
Food pairing
Fruit tarts, apple cake, and hard cheeses. Also very good on its own instead of dessert.
