Rollover To Zoom
Photo for reference. Vintage may differ from the bottle shipped.
Lineage is Herzog's tribute to nine generations of family winemaking, and the Cabernet comes from Paso Robles, where the hot days and cold nights build dark, ripe fruit. This is a dry red, unlike most of the Herzog everyday range.
Mood: Dark, ripe, dry.
Our sommelier says
Open it half an hour before the meal. Paso Cabernet is generous but it wants a little air first.
Tasting notes
Blackberry, cassis and toasted oak on the nose. Full-bodied across the palate with ripe dark fruit and soft tannin. A long finish of dark fruit and vanilla.
Food pairing
Brisket, steak, lamb and cholent. A Friday-night red that can carry a heavy meal.
