Lake County sits north of Napa on red volcanic soil at high elevation — a different terroir entirely. Herzog's Special Reserve from this AVA is darker, richer, and unmistakably its own thing.

Tasting notes
Rich blackberry jam, cassis, and mocha with subtler notes of sandalwood and vanilla. Concentrated cherry and spice on the mid-palate, with velvety tannins and dark volcanic minerality. Long with subtle notes of leather and cocoa.
Pairing
A natural with grilled and roasted meats, duck, and dark chocolate desserts.
