Rollover To Zoom
Carmel 777 is Israel's classic grape brandy, distilled and aged at Carmel Winery in Rishon LeZion since the 1880s. A 30% pot still / 70% continuous still blend, matured three years in Limousin oak, bottled at 40%.
Mood: warm, dried-fruit, familiar.
The Sabba's brandy. A small glass after cholent, a splash in Turkish coffee, honey cake on Rosh Hashanah — it belongs on the shtender next to the bentcher.
Tasting Notes
Dried apricot, sultana raisin, and a whisper of vanilla on the nose. The palate is soft and rounded, with honeyed stone fruit, toasted almond, and light oak spice. The finish is warming and clean, faint caramel and toasted sugar carrying through.
Food Pairing
Neat after a heavy Shabbos meal, splashed into Turkish coffee, or served alongside honey cake, sponge cake, and rugelach. A traditional l'chaim pour at kiddush and simchos.
