Rollover To Zoom
Chateau Fombrauge is one of the oldest estates in Saint-Emilion, dating to 1599, and today owned by Bernard Magrez. This Grand Cru release is a serious, Merlot-led Right Bank Bordeaux in a special kosher bottling.
Mood: Elegant, plush, ageworthy.
A proper Right Bank Bordeaux at the kosher table — silky Merlot fruit, clay-limestone minerality and the polish of an established Grand Cru.
Tasting Notes
Ripe black cherry, plum and cassis with cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite and toasted French oak. Medium- to full-bodied with fine-grained tannins, a rounded core of dark fruit and lifted acidity from clay-limestone soils. Long and elegant, closing on cocoa, dried herbs and a mineral cut.
Food Pairing
A natural for Shabbos rib roast, filet, duck breast, mushroom pasta and aged hard cheeses; excellent Yom Tov and Seder wine.
