Rollover To Zoom
Pinot Nero in Tuscany is an outlier, and Vallepicciola's Pievasciata line makes a serious case for it. Grown high in the hills above Castelnuovo Berardenga, this is a bright, elegant Pinot with a Tuscan accent.
Mood: elegant, red-fruit, alpine.
Kosher Pinot Nero from Tuscany. Not something you see every day. Serve slightly chilled, and let the Italian mountain fruit do the talking.
Tasting Notes
Intense ruby-red with violet nuances. The nose lifts wild strawberry, cassis, and pomegranate. The palate is fresh and persistent, red-berry fruit, gentle spice, and a light-bodied Tuscan structure carried by silky tannins.
Food Pairing
A Shabbos lunch elegant. Serve with grilled salmon, roast chicken with rosemary, mushroom risotto, or a dairy meal with Brie or aged goat cheese. Also gorgeous with tuna crudo (kosher-appropriate) and lightly seared duck.
