Rollover To Zoom
Lonely Cat is Einat Winery's first single-varietal release, 100% Petit Verdot, hand-harvested from vines at 850 meters in the Samaria mountains and aged twelve to eighteen months in French oak. Petit Verdot rarely stands alone. When it does, it delivers this: bold spice, dark fruit, and structure meant to age.
Mood: peppery, elegant, structured.
The grape most winemakers hide inside a blend. Einat let it out on its own, and the spice profile that comes through is unlike any Israeli red on the shelf.
Tasting Notes
Black pepper, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg layer over dark plum, blackberry, and violet on the nose. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with firm well-integrated tannins carrying the fruit through a long, savory finish of graphite and dried herb.
Food Pairing
A serious Shabbos red for standing rib roast, lamb shoulder, venison, or slow-cooked cholent. Also excellent with hard aged cheeses and dark chocolate. Cellars beautifully; seven-to-ten-year aging potential.
