Rollover To Zoom
Tabernacle Reserve Levite is a Merlot-Syrah blend (60/40) from the Moshav Tzuriel winery in Israel's Upper Galilee — aged 15 months in French oak (partly new) plus 10 months in bottle. Kosher L'Mehadrin, mevushal, KFP: a Shabbos table Israeli red with real ambition.
Mood: Structured, Galilee, Yom Tov.
"Serious Upper Galilee blend at $40 — French oak, real bottle age, and mevushal without losing the fruit. Tabernacle is quietly doing very good work."
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-purple. Nose of ripe black cherry, dark chocolate, vanilla and a whisper of Mediterranean scrub. The palate is medium-full with rounded tannins, layered dark fruit, sweet oak spice and a subtle earthy edge. Finish is long, warm and elegantly structured.
Food Pairing
Made for Shabbos brisket, Yom Tov ribeye, or a slow-braised short rib. Also excellent with grilled lamb, aged hard cheeses, and a Motzei Shabbos smoked-meat platter.
