One of the rarest wines in the world: kosher red icewine. Tzafona Cellars in Niagara hand-harvests Cabernet Franc frozen on the vine, and the resulting dessert wine is a strawberry-preserve, cherry-cordial, spice-laden treasure that only a handful of producers on earth attempt.
Mood: Rare, red, luxe.
"Red icewine is one of the rarest wine categories on earth, and kosher red icewine narrows it further. If you love serious dessert wine, this is unmissable."
Tasting Notes
Deep ruby-garnet. Nose of strawberry preserve, morello cherry, red currant and warm sweet spice. The palate is lush and viscous with concentrated red berry, cherry cordial, a whisper of vanilla and just enough acidity to keep it fresh. Finish is long, sweet-tart and unforgettable.
Food Pairing
Serve with dark-chocolate torte, cherry clafoutis, or a real Yom Tov cheese board with aged blue. Also a striking pour for Rosh Hashanah dessert and a very memorable seudah gift.
