Kindzmarauli is the calling card of Georgian winemaking: a naturally semi-sweet red from 100% Saperavi grapes grown in the Kindzmarauli micro-zone of Kakheti. The sweetness isn't added — it comes from stopping fermentation while residual grape sugar remains, a tradition Georgians have practiced for centuries.
Pour it slightly chilled. The first sip surprises drier-wine drinkers — it's lush, not sticky, with the acidity to keep things lively. By bottle's end the room will be asking what it was.
Tasting notes
Deep ruby color. Aromas of ripe black cherry, blackberry jam, and a faint floral lift. The palate is round and plush — black fruit compote, a whisper of dark chocolate, and a clean, fruit-driven finish.
Pairing
A natural with kugel, roast brisket glazed with fruit, dark chocolate desserts, and aged cheeses. Equally at home as a dessert pour or Kiddush wine for those who prefer something less syrupy than traditional sweet reds.
