Rollover To Zoom
A California Malbec grown in Clarksburg, the cool Sacramento Delta AVA where ripe fruit meets fresh acidity. Herzog's Lineage line is the winery's accessible everyday range — serious craft, weekday price.
Mood: Plush, peppery, easygoing.
Tasting notes
Nose opens with blackberry, pink and white peppercorn, tobacco leaf, and a savory game note. Palate is medium-to-full bodied — dark plum, mulberry, and a kiss of oak that pulls graphite and cigar-box spice forward. Finish carries that peppercorn lift through soft, ripe tannins.
Pairing
Built for grilled ribeye, smoked brisket, and pepper-crusted lamb. Holds up to cholent and shows beautifully alongside Shabbos kugel and roasted root vegetables. As a mevushal red, it pours with confidence at any table.
